HID Discontinues Inline OMNIKEY 5121 and 5125 Encoders

HID Global will be discontinuing several commercial configurations of the HID FARGO DTCe and HDP card printers, effective September 30, 2022.
Specifically, the HID OMNIKEY 5121/5125 combo encoder and field upgrade kits are used for inline encoding of smart cards in the HID FARGO® DTCe and HDP card printers for secure badge issuance.

For two decades, our team at ADVANTIDGE has brought greater peace of mind to organizations seeking secure credential solutions that utilize RFID cards which are read by the HID Omnikey encoders. This includes HID prox, iClass, and Seos credentials which are run through HID FARGO card printers like the HDP6600 as part of an enterprise security solution where personnel are required to carry personalized ID badges.

HID Global is transitioning to the HID OMNIKEY 5122 encoder option as a migration path from the 5121 and will continue to provide the HID OMNIKEY 5125 as a standalone offering for reading HID Prox® credentials.

OMNIKEY products are designed to support any smart card for authentication on any application for any computer as a standalone USB encoder or as an inline encoder embedded into an HID FARGO printer. OMNIKEY readers ensure security, worldwide compliance, and easy integration in any system that utilizes contactless or contact chip smart cards in addition to HID prox or Mifare technologies.
